Junior Masters

Junior British Masters At Close House - Apr - Aug 2017

To celebrate the European Tour returning to the North East with the 2017 British Masters we are looking to run the Junior British Masters in conjunction with the event. We feel that this is a huge opportunity to have a positive impact on junior golf within the region for years to come. We aim to:

  • Build upon Lee Westwood’s desire to see more younger players playing golf
  • Enrich the experience of the tournament for young golfers throughout the North of England.
  • Help to promote the overall tournament through local media and golf clubs
  • Assist the Northumberland County Golf Union to improve the lower numbers of participants in junior competitions.
  • Develop a fantastic PR story around the British Masters and Close House.
  • Tournament to continue after 2017 as an annual event with the final at Close House.

  • Two boys and one girl qualifying from each section.
  • 70 players to participate in the Junior Masters Final at Close House 26th September

  • All players will have the chance to watch the Hero Challenge floodlight event on the 18th hole on Tuesday evening.
  • Close House would be prepared to send a member of staff to assist with the administration of the event if required (we would need to know this four weeks before the event)
  • The overall winner on the Tuesday 26th will have the opportunity to play in the British Masters Pro-Am.

The Junior Masters will be promoted by Close House, GMS, England Golf, The Golf Foundation, The County Golf Unions and the European Tour?

Close House will support through our social media and with a dedicated page on the website. Promotional material will be sent out to all the golf clubs and Northern Golfer will partner with Close House.
