The Junior Masters began in 2017 in conjunction with the British Masters that was hosted here at Close House. Since then, with the support of our Attached Touring Professional Lee Westwood and PING Europe we have developed and grown the event to make it as accessible and exciting as possible for more junior golfers across the UK.
Each year, the event features a series of qualifying tournaments across various UK regions, culminating in a grand final played over the Championship Lee Westwood Colt Course here at Close House. The competition is divided into age categories—Under 12, Under 15, and Under 18—for both boys and girls, ensuring inclusivity and fair competition among participants.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the invaluable support of PING and Lee Westwood, whose dedication to the sport has been instrumental in inspiring young players. Their involvement has helped shape the tournament into a key fixture in the junior golf calendar, attracting rising stars from across the UK.
Over the years, the PING Junior Masters has continued to expand, welcoming more talented juniors and elevating the standard of junior golf competition. It has become more than just a tournament – it represents our unwavering dedication to growing the game and ensuring that young golfers have access to the best possible opportunities.
With the continued support of Lee Westwood and PING Europe, the tournament aims to inspire and nurture the next generation of golfing talent in the UK.

Set to return in 2026, the Junior Masters is going from strength to strength with qualifying events in seven counties across the UK.
Each qualifying venue will see 2 boys and 1 girl from the under 12, under 15 and under 18 categories progress to a full tour experience final hosted at Close House on 27th October 2026.
