Sally Hinton

Sally joined the Close House teaching team in 2010 as a newly qualified PGA Professional, relocating from Shropshire where she completed her training. Prior to this, she represented England Schools and the England Girls U18 team, and spent four years at Missouri State University on a golf scholarship, where she rewrote the record books—breaking season scoring records and earning both Female Athlete of the Year and Conference Golfer of the Year in her senior year.

In 2023, Sally was awarded the prestigious PGA Fellow Professional status, along with PGA Female Coach of the Year, cementing her reputation as one of the region’s leading coaches. She is also certified through the Titleist Performance Institute. At Close House, Sally coaches the Northumberland County Girls team and plays a key role in England Golf’s Girls Golf Rocks programme, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of female golfers.

In 2024, Sally was elected to the WPGA Committee, where she is committed to creating more opportunities for women and girls in golf. She also contributes to the PGA Junior Advisory Board, supporting the development of resources for PGA professionals.
