Sally Hinton

Senior PGA Teaching Professional

Sally became part of the Close House teaching team in 2010 as a newly qualified pro, moving up north from Shropshire, where she’d completed her PGA training. Prior to that she’d represented England Schools and English Girls U18’s and attended Missouri State University on a 4-year golf scholarship, rewriting the record books by smashing season scoring records and being awarded both female and conference golfer of the year, in her senior year.

In 2023, Sally was awarded the prestigious Fellow Professional status from the PGA and PGA female coach of the year, reinforcing her reputation as a leading regional coach and is also certified in the Titleist Performance Institute. As part of her role at Close House, Sally coaches the Northumberland County Girls and Ladies teams and is also heavily involved in England Golf’s, Girls Golf Rocks tuition programme, encouraging more girls into the game.
