Junior Membership at Close House is a wonderful way to introduce children and teenagers to golf or enhance the skills they already possess. We have a thriving junior golf section with regular competitions, as well as a successful team in the Northumberland junior golf league.
Our facilities are open to junior golfers of all ages and abilities, from beginners to those who are more advanced. Working with the team of professionals, they can take a trip to the PGA Golf Academy and driving range with designated tuition bays, custom fit suite, practice bays and a specialist short game area and café, where parents can relax in comfortable surroundings.
Our team of qualified golf professionals will work with juniors towards their Junior Golf Passport. The passport is a national learning programme for young people in Scotland, Wales and England. It includes a series of achievable targets and summarises the rules and etiquette of golf, but still with the main emphasis on having fun while learning. It is a comprehensive, progressive, structured programme designed to help young people learn about playing the game of golf. The programme encourages and motivates beginners through the achievement of attainment targets, combined with rewards and the most important element – fun!
